FAQs

Q: What are the measurements of each piece?

A: Please see our pictures. While dimensions may vary slightly, all piece images are on a backdrop of a scale which can show the approximate piece size.

Q: Do I need special paints to paint on plaster?

A: No, special paints are not required. We recommend high-quality acrylic paint and do sell paint pots to go with pieces, but it is not necessary to purchase paint from us.

Q: Are any items pre-painted?

A: No. All items come unpainted.

Q: What about firing? How will I do that?

A: Unlike ceramics, plastercraft does not need to be fired. They do not need additional finishing after painting BUT some people do prefer shines / glossy finishes. These finishing sprays can be acquired in a local Arts and Crafts store (but are absolutely not necessary).

Q: Do you have a purchasing mimimum / maximum?

A: As the largest manufacturer and supplier in the country, it is very unlikely that an order can be too small or too large. Please email us for bulk purchase requests so we can provide an accurate estimate including bulk shipping and packaging.

Q: How fast can you ship?

A: Generally within 72 hours, depending on the size of order. Delivery times from our dock will depend on ground travel time between your location and Boston, MA.

Q: Can I leave a plaster piece outside?

A: While we do not recommend leaving pieces outside, as there are other materials better suited for all-weather wear, we know that many customers do leave items outside. We recommend industrial finishes and an annual application to protect against moisture.

Q: Can I come shop at the Factory? Do you have a showroom?

A: Unfortunately, our manufacturing center is only for Manufacturing. For retail shopping, we recommend visiting our former parent company, Plaster Fun Time, at any of their Boston area locations where discounted prices are available for take-home pieces.

Q: Doesn’t everything get broken in shipment?

A: Actually, only a small percentage of items we ship end up being damaged or broken in transit. While is work hard to minimize this risk by careful packaging, breakage does occur. If you do receive a broken piece or pieces, please fill out a claim form . Note, please keep the box and packaging together for a shipping inspection by the chosen carrier.
